RF Manager

Automatic frequency coordination for large events with many RF systems

Add your gear by zone and see right away what is clashing. Import the venue scan, draw the floor plan and let the app coordinate the frequencies.

Who it is for

  • Audio and RF techs

Build the frequency plan and check for conflicts before soundcheck.

  • Audio rental and production companies

Several techs on the same event, with the same plan saved in the cloud.

  • Events with many zones

Conferences, trade shows and festivals with general sessions, stages and booths, each zone with its own gear.

Two frequencies clashing? You see it before soundcheck

Each event zone has its own gear list. When two frequencies clash, the rows turn red and the app tells you which one it clashes with.

  • Gear, brand and model, range, group, channel, frequency and notes
  • Conflicts in red, with the item and zone they clash with
  • Adjustable minimum spacing for the event
  • Conflicts only filter and search by gear, brand or frequency

Leave the frequency blank. The app works them all out at once

Add your gear with its model and tap Coordinate automatically. The app shows a preview before applying.

  • Uses the range of each model from the gear catalog
  • Avoids blocked ranges, TV channels and noise from your scans
  • Respects spacing and avoids intermodulation
  • Accounts for distance between zones and reuse allowed on the floor plan

Try it: Handheld 2 clashes with Handheld 1, Table 2 lands on an intermodulation product and the Lav is blank. Tap Coordinate and check the preview.

The venue scan on the same graph as your frequencies

Import the scan from the gear you already use. The graph shows noise, TV channels and your frequencies on one screen.

  • Files from Shure Wireless Workbench, Sennheiser WSM, RF Explorer, TinySA and SoundBase
  • TinySA straight over USB, in Chrome or Edge on a computer, with peak hold
  • Block everything above the threshold in one click
  • Digital TV channels marked by city. The 4G band (698 to 806 MHz) comes blocked

The venue floor plan shows where you can reuse a frequency

Import the floor plan as an image or PDF, or draw it by hand. Place zones and scan points, floor by floor.

  • Calibrate the scale to get distances right
  • Floors with floor height and attenuation between floors
  • Noise in each zone estimated from the distance to the scan points
  • Reuse allowed between two zones, or by distance. Off by default: test before the event

The whole crew on the same plan, even without internet

Events are saved in the cloud and synced between users. Offline, the app opens with the last copy saved on the device.

  • Each person with their own user, in the name.company format
  • You create and disable users in your BroadTools account
  • Each user on one device at a time. You can sign someone out right away
  • Changes made offline upload when the connection is back

What changes compared to a frequency spreadsheet

With a spreadsheet, the conflict shows up when someone turns on the mic. With RF Manager, it shows up when you type the frequency.

Questions from RF coordinators

Do I need internet at the event?

To sign in and to sync, yes. Offline, the app opens with the last copy saved on the device and shows how many changes are pending. They upload when the internet is back.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Reading a TinySA over USB is the exception: it only works in Chrome or Edge on a computer.

Which receivers does RF Bridge control?

Shure SLX-D, ULX-D, QLX-D and Axient Digital, and Sennheiser EW-DX. The Bridge reads and sends frequency and name. Then you sync each transmitter with SYNC. This feature is being validated with real gear.

Does automatic coordination replace testing on site?

No. It works out frequencies from what you entered: models, blocks, TV channels, scans and distances. Scanning and testing with the mic before the event still matter.

How many people can use it?

It depends on the plan: 1, 3, 5 or 10 seats, including you. Each person has their own user, in the name.company format, and uses one device at a time.

How does the free trial work?

3 days for 1 person, with almost everything unlocked. Only Export event and full backup are locked. PDFs and spreadsheets work as usual. No credit card.
