Video, logo, KV and black, over the presentation

Video plays over the slide and goes off air by itself at the end. Logo, KV and black are one key away.

  • When finished: goes off air, holds the last frame, repeats or plays the next

  1. In Companion, go to Modules › Import module package and choose the .tgz file.
  2. Add the "BroadTools: Proteus Switcher" connection.
  3. To import the pages, go to Import/Export › Import and choose the .companionconfig file.

Operator questions

Do I need PowerPoint installed?

For .pptx files, yes. The app uses the computer's own PowerPoint, so slides look exactly as the speaker built them. PDF, video, images, websites, Canva and Google Slides work without it.

What if PowerPoint freezes mid-event?

The screen does not stay frozen. The freeze is released, the output goes to black and you get a warning.

Do I need a Stream Deck?

No. Companion works with other surfaces and with virtual keys on a tablet. And the web control opens in any browser, including on a phone.

Does it need internet?

Only to activate the key and for the internet control link. The app runs up to 30 days offline.

Does it run on Mac or with Keynote?

For now, Windows only. A Mac version is coming soon. Keynote does not open directly: export to PowerPoint or PDF.

Can I try it at a real event?

Yes. The 7-day trial key, free when you sign up, unlocks the full app, with no watermark and no time limit. Without a key, Proteus Switcher opens in trial mode: 20 minutes, with a watermark on the outputs.
