PatchPlanner

Your event signal flow and cable list, in the same drawing

Drag cameras, switchers, converters and consoles into the drawing and connect the signals. The cable list, the patch for each location and the labels come out ready. Free with up to 2 planners.

Who it is for

  • Video and audio techs

Build the signal flow before you leave the shop, not on load-in day.

  • Rental companies and warehouse crews

Pull the right cables, in the lengths you actually have in stock.

  • Technical directors

The crew arrives at the event knowing what goes into each port, at each location.

HDMI into an SDI input? The drawing warns you

When the signal does not match the port, the cable turns dashed and the app tells you which converter is missing. One click and the converter goes into the drawing and the cable list.

  • Incompatibility warning on the connection and in reports
  • Converter added with one click
  • The cable list updates on its own
  • Try it: add the converter and watch the cable list change

The cable list comes from the drawing, in stock lengths

Each connection becomes a row in the list. The warehouse view groups cables by type and standard length, with 10% spare.

  • Standard lengths from 0.5 m to 100 m
  • 10% spare, rounded up
  • Copy to a spreadsheet or download as .csv (Excel and Google Sheets)
  • Search and filter by signal type

Each location with its own patch, port by port

Stage, control booth and audience area, with the port list for each device. See what is connected to each port, with the cable number, and what is free.

  • Patch grouped by event location
  • Port free or in use, with the cable
  • The same drawing feeds the patch and the cable list

Labels ready, one for each end

Each cable has its ID, where it goes and where it comes from. Labels, the cable list and the patch also export to a spreadsheet.

  • Label in the signal color, with destination and source
  • Export labels, cables, warehouse list and patch as .csv
  • Things to check: incompatible signal, unconnected gear and estimated length

In your account, on your phone and offline

Planners are saved to your BroadTools account and open on any computer. Without internet, you keep editing and changes upload when the connection is back.

  • Sign in with your account email, nothing to install
  • A copy on the device to open offline
  • Planner changed on two devices: the newest edit wins, and the other one stays saved
  • Import and export planners as JSON, for backup or to send to someone

What changes in your planning

On paper or in a spreadsheet, the drawing and the cable list are two separate jobs. In PatchPlanner, the list comes from the drawing.
