Over Timer

Your event's timing under control, from the stage to the client

The day's schedule in one cue list, with the delay worked out on its own. The speaker sees the countdown change color, you run it from Companion and the client follows on a phone link.

Who it is for

  • Stage timekeepers

You build the day's list and put each talk live at the right time, without chasing the speaker.

  • Production companies and stage managers

Conferences, trade shows and corporate events with the same schedule, the same stage and the same report at the end.

  • Companion users

You get commands, displays in the warning color and ready-made presets for Stream Deck.

The speaker reads the time without anyone holding up a sign

The countdown changes color at warning 1, warning 2 and overtime. When needed, you type a message and it shows up on stage.

  • Warning 1 and warning 2 on each cue, at any time you want
  • At the end: overtime, stop at zero, repeat, start the next cue or finish
  • Stage message, black screen and clock, each one tap away
  • The current slide from Proteus Switcher, PDF Presenter or Phantom Presenter shows below the countdown

Try it. The talk is almost over: in 1 minute the countdown turns yellow, then orange, then goes into overtime. The client link follows along.

Stage outputFull screen, NDI and browser show the same thing

00:01:10 Keynote Slide 28/35

NORMALWarning 1 at 1 minute, warning 2 at 30 seconds.

Companion buttons

The displays change color along with the stage. Try it: +1 min, message, start the next cue.

ItemPlannedActual

The client asks how long is left? Send the live link

The client opens the link on their phone and sees the same time as the stage. Nothing to install and no calls on the radio.

  • Countdown, live cue, message, next cue and current slide
  • Projected end, delay and planned vs actual for each cue
  • Up to 5 links per license, one for each client or stage
  • Made a new link? The old one stops working right away

One output for every screen at the event

Confidence monitor, LED wall, stream or the green room TV: the same countdown goes to all of them at once.

  • Presenter: a window with just the countdown, always on top of the presentation, without stealing the clicker
  • Full screen on the monitor you choose
  • Two NDI sources, countdown and Report, in 720p, 1080p or 4K
  • Web address to open the stage in any browser on the network
  • Layout editor: position, size, font, logo and color for each state

Run it from Companion. The buttons show the time in the stage color

The Bitfocus Companion module comes with ready commands and displays. The time on the buttons turns yellow, orange or red along with the stage.

  • Works with Stream Deck, other surfaces and virtual buttons on a tablet
  • Start, pause, add and remove time, message, black screen and clock
  • Ready presets and variables for the live cue, the next one and the delay
  • No keyboard shortcuts, on purpose: nothing fires while someone types or changes slides

At the end of the event, the report is ready

Over Timer keeps the time each cue started and ended, the actual duration and the overtime.

  • The event saves itself after every action. If the app closes, the cue picks up where it left off
  • Several lists in the same event, one per day or per stage
  • Imports the list from CSV, including from CueTimer
  • Exports the list and the report as CSV

Operator questions

Does it need internet?

Only to activate the license key and for the live client link. Countdown, outputs, NDI and Companion work on the local network. After activation, the app runs up to 30 days offline.

Does it work on Mac?

For now, Windows only. Mac version coming soon. The web outputs open in any browser, including on a Mac, tablet or phone.

Does the countdown cover the presentation on the stage computer?

No. The Presenter window stays on top, with just the countdown, and opens without stealing focus. The clicker keeps changing slides.

Do I need a Stream Deck?

No. Everything works from the buttons in the app. The module is for Bitfocus Companion, which works with Stream Deck, other surfaces and virtual buttons on a tablet or phone.

Does the client need to install anything?

No. They open the link in their phone's browser. Each license keeps up to 5 links. The client link is included in the Over Timer plan.

Can I try it at a real event?

Yes. The 7-day trial key, free when you sign up, unlocks the full app, with no watermark and no time limit. Without a key, Over Timer opens in trial mode: 20 minutes, with a watermark on the outputs.
